Mount Lilydale Mercy College offers a wide range of opportunities and sports in the Sports program. All students from Year 8 through to Year 10 participate in compulsory weekly sport and students from Year 11 and Year 12 are also able to participate in the weekly competition for Terms 1-3.

Mount Lilydale is a member of the Eastern Independent Schools Melbourne. The sports offered through the EISM include Swimming, Athletics, Cross Country, Basketball, Netball, Tennis, AFL, Soccer, Badminton, Table Tennis, Softball, Hockey,  Cricket and much more. Year 9 and 10 students who do not play weekly sport participate in a mix of different activities including Dance, Snooker, classes at the Lilydale Gym, Gymnastics and Roller Hockey.

All students in the College participate in the House Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country Carnivals. Those who are successful at these events are selected for the school squads and compete at EISM level.

Students are encouraged to participate in lunchtime sports in their House Groups or even in homeroom competitions.  There is also equipment available for students to play with at lunchtimes. Other sports offered at the College include Futsal, Weightlifting, Aerobics, Snow sports and Equestrian.  Students are always encouraged to be a member of the sporting teams.
